The universe in mourning
Straining our vision for a glimpse
Of a new world aborning, a brand new world aborning."

The flood at St. Peter’s on January 4, 2021…

On January 4, The York Theatre sustained major flood damage due to a water main break. “We are devastated but we will recover…There’s damage everywhere from mud and water. We’re working to recover archival files, scripts, lighting equipment, costumes, scenery—and 50 years of York Theatre history. Computers, carpeting, and some lighting equipment will need replacing; irreplaceable are certain papers and artwork. We ask that you keep us in your thoughts,” said Jim Morgan.

Shortly thereafter, Jim Morgan created a Facebook post and fundraiser which garnered an incredible response. We are deeply moved and grateful to our community of patrons, artists and volunteers for coming together to help the York rebuild after this disaster.

The York Theatre has moved out of its space entirely, putting everything in storage for the time being so the space can be remediated. We look forward to the future with excitement!
